I am 31 years old, happily divorced, and partially disabled from an accident. I have a bad back, hip, and right leg, and walk with the assistance of a cane. I have other health issues mostly due to genetics (my father passed away at age 54 with multiple health problems) that challenge me on a daily basis. Most of my family is diabetic, hypertensive, and overweight. I am currently borderline diabetic, stage 1 hypertensive, and approximately 15 pounds overweight. I also have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Periodic Paralysis which doesn't allow me to exercise much. I'm unfortunately one of those breakable people...I have severe muscle atrophy and the least little strain or wrong move can cause permanent damage. My goal is to lose a minimum of 10 pounds through diet and keep my health issues under control as best as I can. I heard someone say one time "We can't change our genes, but we can fight them tooth and nail!" That is what I'm trying to do. Thanks. :)
