My Photos | whitej I am a happily married mother of 2. I never had a weight problem until I had my second child. I not only kept the weight after I gave birth, but gained weight on top of that. November 2006, I was 187lbs and was getting ready to accept the fact that I could only buy clothes from the plus size stores. I was wearing size 16 jeans and needed to go up to an 18. I decided I didn't want to do that, I am a happily married mother of 2. I decided I didn't want to do that, as bad I hated to give up my sodas and start watching what I ate, that's exactly what I did. The first 10lbs, with the exception that we were going through the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays, was pretty easy. Hardest part was saying no to all the yummy desserts and second helpings that were readily available. I just quit drinking 44oz sodas 2 times a day, started eating a healthy breakfast, having a piece of fruit for a mid-morning snack, and switched to buying Weight Watchers meals instead of McDonald's and Sonic for lunch. About 12lbs down, I had to start to make other changes, so I started learning how to eat healthy, add fruits and vegetables to my diet, cut out chips and fried foods out of my diet completely. At 15lbs down, I had to start getting serious about watching my calories. I started going down to 1200-1600 calories a day. I was stuck at 20lbs for months. I finally went to the doctor when I had cut my caloric intake all the way to 1000 calories and still wasn't losing anything but my energy and sleep. My Dr. also said that I would not be able to get past about 30lbs total loss without exercise and he's right. I have put off regular exercise as long as I can because I am busy, was never any good at it, and just don't like it. I wanted to do something fun that I might not consider exercise when my little internal voice started complaining again so I ordered the HHA set.
