Born in the beautiful country of Costa Rica, emigrated to the good ole USA in 1971, where I've been a resident ever since and a citizen since 1990. I came originally to Southern California but being a musician, I have travelled all over the country from coast to coast, settled for about eight years in Minnesota, and finally returned to Southern California in 1983, where I have been ever since. I started training in martial arts at the tender age of 42, and then got into lifting weights at 48, was doing great with both until in 2005, when I suffered a car accident that left me in not so good shape, having a broken tibia, and neck and shoulder trauma, I could not train for about two years, but this last year (2007) I decided I'd have enough and had the urge to recapture what I'd accomplished recently, so slowly I got into walking, then hiking and finally running a little bit. Last summer I had an opportunity to do a preliminary firefighter test, which I passed and, though I did not want to pursue a career as a firefighter, even though I idolize the people who do that for a living, it was nice to know that I was in the right path and that my body was responding to my efforts. While I was in Minnesota visiting relatives this last Christmas (2007), I saw a TV advertisement for P90X, which piqued my curiosity and right then I decided to order it, it came to me by the time I returned to California and I jumped right in on January 07, 2008. So here I am, on my 30th day, ...I will keep you updated, as the story unfolds.

Well, I'm on my 90th day onmy P90X program, I've already lost 16 lbs and I feel more energetic. I'm going ahead and starting a new round of tha P90X right away. So far I have lowered my BF from 18% to 13%, I'm changing the way I feel and look, trimming fat and adding muscle and have taken 6 inches off of my waist! I'm on my 90th day today, I'm really happy with the results I'm getting with P90X and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to radically improve him or herself.
I'm down to 204, from 220 at day 1...That's really something!
As far as how much has P90X helped me with my running, let me count the ways... stamina, endurance, leg muscles, lungs, speed, balance, recovery, attitude, ankles, knees...all of the above have improved radically since I started 3 months ago. Back then I could only run about 5 or 6 miles, now I know I can do 18 easily, which puts me on a marathon pace... This morning I did an easy 6 miles on the mountain trails and I felt like I left money on the table, but I stopped myself from going longer because that's all I needed to do today, next Thursday I'll do 12 to 15 and Sunday I'll do 18 for sure...Couldn't have done it without the conditioning I've acquired by doing P90X !!!
