I am 41 years old, married for 12 years (second time was the charm) and have 3 kids. My kids are 2 boys and a girl ages 18, 14 and 9. I have lived in Utah for 20 years. I lived in Idaho before that (grew up there). As a kid and teenager I was always very tiny. I never had any issues at all with being over-weight until after I had kids (3 C-sections) and got a little Hi! My name is Michelle. I decided to become a coach for Team Beachbody because it motivates me to be healthy and fit myself and because I want to help others get that way too. My name is Michelle. I turned 41 this year (2009) and I’m in the best shape of my life! I owe this fact and my transformation to Team Beachbody. I began my love affair with Beachbody back in May of 2004. I had gained a bunch of weight prior to this and had lost it through a strict but healthy diet. I started at 164 pounds on a 5’2” small frame. I wore a size 14 in pants and they were getting a bit tight. I absolutely did not want to go up a size. This is what inspired me to start eating healthy and lose weight. I got my weight down to 119 pounds. But, then pretty soon the weight started to creep back on because I was getting tired of watching my diet and being so strict with it. When I got on the scale and it said 139 pounds, I knew it was time to do something before I gained back all the weight I had lost. The answer was in exercise. I knew this because I had exercised before and had been able to keep my weight where it should be. My husband saw an infomercial for Slim in 6. He asked me to watch it and then asked if I thought I would like to try it out. So I ordered it. I was so amazed at the inches I lost and the weight in those 6 weeks! Well, I was excited and wanted more! I have several of Beachbody’s programs, and I love them! Turbo Jam is the program that helped me be consistent with working out. I was back and forth with exercise before that. Turbo Jam was so much fun that it didn’t feel like I was exercising. At the beginning of 2008 I decided I wanted to get more definition and muscle so I decided to try out P90X. Wow! I got what I wanted, that’s for sure! After P90X I tried out P90X+ and mixed it up with Turbo Jam. 2008 was a great year for working out! I was getting in great shape, building muscle and getting the definition that I wanted. At the end of the year I battled the Holidays and back slid just a bit. Then Chalene Johnson came out with ChaLEAN Extreme. I had to have it! Now ChaLEAN Extreme is where my real transformation and motivation came in. Let me explain. Feb. 3, 2009 my oldest son (17 years old) was hit by a car crossing the street by his High School. He was almost killed. When we got to the hospital the paramedics told us that he should not have survived. When I saw my son trying desperately to be saved by the Trauma team at the hospital, I nearly passed out. It was the most difficult and horrible day of my life. I was barely a month into ChaLEAN Extreme, but had to put my workouts on the back burner for a few weeks. My son was in the hospital for nearly a month. It was so stressful and exhausting! He was in a coma for a week and had multiple injuries. His recovery was going to take some time, and it took a LOT of my time. ChaLEAN’s workouts are shorter than some of the other programs that I have. I began doing them again after a couple of weeks of living at the hospital. The length of the workouts were perfect, and exercising again was a tremendous release for me! I had more energy, more muscle and strength to do what I needed to for my son and for myself. In one of Chalene’s workouts she says to think of someone who is going through a hard time and use them as your inspiration. Well, my son was my inspiration. When I thought I didn’t have the strength or energy to do the workouts, I would think of him and what he was going through and how hard he was working to recover. That would inspire me to keep going and keep pushing myself. Now my son is recovering very nicely. I had tremendous support from my friends at Team Beachbody through all of this. Between the workouts and their support, I was able to get through the most difficult time of my life and get in the best shape of my life. When I got to bring my son home, he would sit with me when I worked out and watch. He made the comment that as soon as he was able to, he would like to start exercising too. He told me that he was proud of me and that I inspired him. How cool is that?! He was my inspiration! Now he has started working out and is trying to get in shape. He told me he loves working out and getting stronger. This all came from watching me. Now my other children are exercising too! Team Beachbody has changed my life, my son’s and my family’s.
