Congratulations on checking into Beachbody! The more time you spend
around here the more you'll see that there are hundreds or thousands of
great stories. Here's mine:

I have always exercised on an off but never consistently. Over the past few
years, I started to pack on a few pounds. It didn't bother me at first because
I considered it "normal" as I was getting a little older to be a little overweight.
I could still cover the little beer belly with loose shirts, but soon the weight
also started showing on
my face. When a friend commented on my new second chin it was time to
take action.

In November 2005, with my wife about to leave on an extended trip to
Europe, I saw a magazine ad for the P90X program. I knew I'd be home alone
for a couple of months, so I thought it would be the perfect time to test my
discipline by tackling "the X." With Tony Horton in my living room every
morning, I went from barely 3 to 20 pullups. That is a 600+% increase!! As
my body shape started changing, I noticed the tight part of my shirt was no
longer my belly but now my chest!

As it turned out, decided to stay in Europe. At the same time, two other
important events happened in my life. I turned 40, and I saw a study in the
medical literature about Parkinson's disease. Now, turning 40 and getting
divorced both have a way of making you re-examine your life. This study
completed the life change tri-fecta.

Both my father and my grandfather died from Parkinson's disease. It scares
the daylights out of me. The study found people who exercised regularly and
vigorously had a 40% lower risk of getting Parkinson's! The instant I read that
it was no longer about getting through a 90-day program. Fitness became
my lifestyle.

Thanks to the Beachbody products and the incredible support from friends
I've made on WOWY and the message boards, I turned 40 in the absolute
best shape and in the best health of my life. I'm moving on to my next phase
with confidence and optimism! And that second chin, well let's just say it will
never be heard from again!!
