New round of P90X begins January 1st, 2010 I had a great vacation to Disney World and during that I was told about the possibility of moving to Seattle. So I came back and did a round of INSANITY. Now that was 60 well spent days but I have found myself missing P90X and also the 3rd week of Septembet I had orders to move to Seattle so here I am. My forearm/elbow is still playing games but I can't hold out anymore. I will be doing a lot of cardio and push ups until the end of the year and hit the ground running January 1st. Watch for me in WOWY and feel free to send me messages. Time for a VACATION!!! Well the family and I are off to Disney World on July 27. We will be there for 2 weeks and when I return I'll be starting 60 days of EXTREME excitement with the new INSANITY program. It is the most intense workout ever put on DVD and I figured 'What the heck, I feel pretty good after these rounds of P90X and P90X+. After receiving the DVDs and watching them I truly see where they came up with the name. Anyhow if you keep reading through here you will see my updates at different time this past year. Reach deep, don't accept ezxcuses from yourself, and keep pressing play! UPDATE!!! Just entering Round 4 of P90X and I will be bringing it up yet another level to finish off my first year. The sun is up earlier so that makes getting out of bed a bit easier as well. I plan on extra Cardio in the afternoons and some benchpressing around lunch to help bulk a bit as I lean my midsection as well. TIME FOR A CHANGE!!! I HAD EVERY REASON NOT TO DO THE PROGRAM BUT DECIDED TO BREAK THE MOLD! IT MIGHT EVEN WORK! I'm 43 years old and have 22 years active duty in the Army. I am married and have four children ranging from 11 to 21 years old. I have been doing desk work for 15 years between Recruiting and now Retention for the U.S. Army. The days came and went too quickly and I needed some motivation to get me going again. I had always been active and I like almost all sports. Over the past 20 years a pound here and there was gained and it was no biggie because in my mind "I was getting older and it was normal". Afterall when I looked around at others I was "doing better than most". I had seen the Infomercials before and thought I can do that but my job keeps me too busy being in charge and all. A friend called me to let me know that he had purchased the program and another had it from last Christmeas from his wife. "Uh oh!, I thought, they are going to get in shape and I'll be left behind. I couldn't handle the thought of that so I purchased the program in mid July 2008. I started getting excited but I really didn't know what to expect. The 3 of us started talking about how and when we would workout. Each of us at our own house, early in the morning, and then reporting to each other how we did with each days workout. Within in just the first week they had excuses creeping into their days and I just chugged along. I watched my diet while I exercised and kept updating them with my progress. My fitness level continued to rise while my weight continued to drop. On Septemeber 9th my unit had an Army Physical Fitness Test(APFT) at Sea Level in Oregon. I live at about 6,500 ft elevation so I thought "I'll do OK." Prior to starting P90X I had every excuse for not exercising from my shoulders being bad from sitting at a computer the last 14 years and also that I just couldn't run like before because of my inactivity. 35 pushups and 45 situps would be a stretch not to mention running faster than an 18 minute 2 mile and I was onlly really just getting into the second month of the program. I just wanted to pass this one! Having not taken any real time off for my body to store some energy I took the test. Weight: 185, 45 Pushups, 64 Situps, and 16:18 2 mile run. 251 points out a max of 300. I was VERY happy. Previous scores were always the minimum just so I met the "Minimum" requirement but I didn't want that anymore. I then decided that I would take another test after completing my 90 days. I made sure to keep updating my friends, maybe a little too much, but their lack of motivation helped mine grow! I'm 43 and doing this! I continued the prgram progressing daily up to my 90th day which was November 1st, 2008. Now it was time for photos and measurements and my final weight. Many, many inches of fat were gone! 31 pounds to be exact. More than 10% body fat had been lost! My old "skinny" pants were now too big!!! Now for my APFT that I promised myself but this time at 6,00 feet elevation!!! I grabbed another Soldier to count/verify each event. Pushups: 70, Situps: 75, and Two Mile Run: 15:56. Maxed plus 4 extra for push ups, maxed plus 3 extra for sit ups, and still need to take need to take 1:50 secs off to max the run. Overall score 283 out of 300. You know the best part of all of this? I know that I WILL max the run in March 2009 in Las Vegas. Beachbody and P90X has adjusted my attitude and given me the means to truly expect more from myself, not accept age as an excuse, and to keep striving for the most for me and my family and also my friends and Soldiers. I LOVE THE PROGRAM!!! Thank you Beachbody and Tony Horton for NOT stopping the Infomercials at all hours of the day and night. SOme of us need to see it a couple times before we say "YES I CAN"! UPDATE: This goes from current and then back. I have started INSANITY and love how difficult it is and how I am challenged each day. I injured my right forearm do curls so this program is perfect to let my arm heal. Wow I haven't posted here in a bit. Still pushing play and loving my transformation. I have more energy than ever and find myself looking for something extra each day now to keep me going. I am now entering Round 4 and look to finish off any left over flab from my big weight loss and now bulf up a bit. I will be adding in some extra cardio now that the weather is nice again and mix in some extra IntervalX Plus as well. We have a family trip to Disney World this summer and I want to be in better shape than I already am. I am in the 3rd month of my second round of P90X. I have maintained my weight and I'm extremly happy with my results. What I like best is all the people that I have influenced as a result of my results. This program is great and there truly is one for everyone! I have now finished P90X+ and have started Round 2 of P90X. What can I say except I love what the programs have done for me! I FINISHED ROUND 1 of P90X I am very proud to report that I have finished my first round of P90X. I lost 31 pounds and over 10% body fat. I really hoped for these results but figured that it wouldn't work for me. That the results that I saw were for someone else. I'm here to report that Beachbody workouts WORK, they're fun and keep you motivated, and when you stick to them you will be COMPLETELY SATISFIED! I am in my final week of Round 1. I had no idea what the last 82 days had in store for me but I'm glad I choose the journey. It's been great and I'm really looking forward to my P90X+ program. This week I will put together the P90X+ and get my new routine figured out. BREAK/// I am now a COACH! I'm at day 74 now and I've lost 26 lbs so far and about 11% body fat. Everything is going well and my wife even bought me P90X+. I have found that morning work outs are for me. The energy may not be the best but I'm sure to complete what is needed and if the day allows I can do some more in the evening as well. Also my wife has been working out with me. She is down 24 lbs and bought 10 minute trainer as well for herself when she travels. She in in the Army Reserve and has made GGREAT progress on the program. BREAK/// Well I'm about 40 days into the program and I'm ecstatic about the results. I'm wearing my "NEW" clothes again. You know the ones that have been hanging in the closet for several years because you keep saying "SOMEDAY". Well my day is now and it feels great. My wife loves the transformation as well and even she is down 15 lbs. What more can I say except "Thanks Tony!" and for those of you wondering... The program works great! | ||||||||
