In 2007 I started a new job that I love, but unfortunately it required lots of hours. I had no time to exercise and most of the meals I had were fast food. Needless to say I gained quite a bit of weight. By the end of the year none of my pants fit any longer, and I had to break down and buy bigger ones. This was not easy for me to do. I decided I would start losing weight as a part of my New Year’s Resolution in 2008. Well this was obviously after Thanksgiving and Christmas and New years and the football Bowl season so I probably gained 5 lbs from November to the end of December. This made me the heaviest I had been in my life, I was 213 lbs. I began to diet mostly with very little exercise and got down to 192 lbs by August. This was very close to my ideal weight, but I no longer had any muscle tone and my body composition was nothing like I wanted. This is when I decided to start P90X. At the start of the program I was around 23% body fat and by the end of the 90 days I was 192 lbs and 16% body fat. I was feeling very athletic and much better about myself. I continue to work out 6 days a week, and do my best to eat a well balanced healthy diet. I am now down to 187 lbs and 12% body fat.
I have 3 young children ranging ages from 9 months to 6 years. They are full of energy and the two oldest have already started the sports thing. We are just finishing up soccer and getting ready to start T-ball. I am able to practice with them any time they want and never feel out of energy. My wife has been very supportive of my workouts and has now started using the 10 Minute Trainer to help her get in a little better shape and to give her more energy since she is going to be the coach or our kids T-ball team! It is my turn to take care of our 9 month old while the older kids play and my wife coaches!
